2026 Presidents Cup Teams: Full USA and International Rosters
The Presidents Cup teams for 2026 are complete. Twelve Americans and twelve Internationals will meet at Medinah Country Club near Chicago from September 24 to 27, 2026, for the 16th edition of the event. Brandt Snedeker captains the United States. Geoff Ogilvy captains the International side.

2026 U.S. Presidents Cup Team
The American side is built around world number one Scottie Scheffler, who topped the points list by a wide margin. Six players qualified on points after the BMW Championship. Snedeker then added six picks.

Schauffele, Thomas and Cantlay bring the match play experience. Each has ten Presidents Cup wins. Jackson Koivun is the surprise. The 21 year old sat 48th on the points list, well outside the group Snedeker was expected to choose from, and got the call on form rather than numbers.
2026 International Presidents Cup Team
The International team draws from seven countries. Six players qualified off the International Team Points List after the TOUR Championship. Ogilvy then made six picks, including one from well down the order.

Adam Scott plays his 12th Presidents Cup, more than anyone else in the field. Hideki Matsuyama makes his seventh straight appearance. Three South Koreans give the side its largest national group. Bezuidenhout, ranked 18th on the points list, was the pick nobody saw coming. His 3-1-1 record is the best win rate among the returning Internationals, and Ogilvy said that decided it.

Ogilvy has an unusual edge for a visiting captain. His design firm, OCM Golf, carried out the $23.5 million reroute of Medinah’s Course No. 3 that finished in 2024. The International captain knows the host course better than anyone on the American side.

How the Presidents Cup Teams Were Selected
Both sides use the same shape, six qualifiers and six picks, but two different points systems.
- United States: FedExCup points from January 1, 2025 to August 23, 2026. 2026 majors and THE PLAYERS counted double, other 2026 events at one and a half times. Top six qualified after the BMW Championship.
- International: a points list built on the Official World Golf Ranking from September 8, 2025 to August 31, 2026, with a minimum of 15 ranking events. Top six qualified after the TOUR Championship.
- Picks: six per captain, both announced on September 1, 2026.
The International side only takes players from outside Europe. Anyone eligible for the European Ryder Cup team is excluded. LIV Golf members are also out on both sides, because selection requires eligibility for PGA TOUR sanctioned events. That rules out Joaquin Niemann and Lucas Herbert for the Internationals. Ogilvy asked the TOUR to open the competition to all internationals and was refused.
Who Missed the 2026 Presidents Cup Teams
Ben Griffin finished eighth on the U.S. points list, ahead of five of Snedeker’s six picks, and was left out after a second half slump. Ryan Gerard and J.J. Spaun also missed the cut.
Jason Day is the biggest International absence. He finished 11th on the points list with five Presidents Cups behind him, but a back problem ran through his 2026 season. Ogilvy said he could not be sure Day would last four days. Day turned down an offer to serve as an assistant captain.

Seven players make their Presidents Cup debut at Medinah.

The United States has won the last 10 Presidents Cups in a row and has never lost one on home soil. The International side’s only win came at Royal Melbourne in 1998. On paper the Americans are stronger again, but the closest finish in the event’s history, 15.5 to 14.5 at Incheon in 2015, shows the gap can close fast in match play.
